Basic Course in Blasting Technology -  Blasting Certificate Class A

We now offer the course in blasting technology - Blasting Certificate Class A, perfect for professionals who want to advance and specialize in blasting work. The course is designed to provide the necessary competencies required to work professionally as a blasting foreman. We offer an in-depth understanding of the basic principles and techniques of blasting as well as safety regulations and the rules governing blasting operations.

In addition to blasting foremen, the course is also aimed at other professional roles that come into contact with blasting operations, such as supervisors, consultants, planners, estimators, and more.

Course Content

  • Properties and applications of explosives and initiation systems

  • Laws and regulations affecting blasting operations

  • The Swedish Work Environment Authority’s regulations on blasting work – AFS 2007:1 Blasting Work, AFS 2010:1 Rock Work

  • Blasting plans

  • MSB’s regulations on handling, transferring, and storing explosive substances

  • MSB’s regulations on the transport of dangerous goods (ADR 1.3)

  • Blasting techniques – bench blasting, trench blasting, tunnel blasting, controlled blasting

  • Charge calculations

  • Misfires – handling, measures before and after a blast, handover to contractor

  • Practical setup – initiation plans, practical setup with electric, electronic, and shock tube detonators

  • Geology – Geology related to blasting

  • Vibrations related to blasting

  • Final exam with review and conclusion

In addition to modern course materials, the book “Modern Rock Blasting” is also included.

After completing and passing the course and one year of practical work, you will receive a Blasting Certificate Class A, which is necessary to carry out blasting operations in accordance with regulatory requirements. The course also provides an ADR 1.3 certificate, which is necessary for the transport of value-calculated quantities.

We offer the course "Training in blasting technology for blasting base - Blasting card class A". After the course examination, if the result is approved, you can apply for the certificate Explosive Card Class A through the Swedish Mining Association.
