Test Blasting
Nitro Consult is a blasting technology consulting firm operating throughout Sweden, with roots in Nitro Nobel, founded by Alfred Nobel. Since its inception in 1969, we have developed strong expertise in blasting for construction, mining, and demolition. We offer services such as inspections, measurements (vibrations, noise, air blasts, acoustics), risk analyses, blasting technology, and construction management. Nitro Consult is a reliable partner for projects in Sweden and internationally.
Why Test Blasting?

Project Planning
Test blasting provides valuable information about the geological conditions of the rock and the expected environmental impact, contributing to more precise and reliable project planning. By testing the effects of blasting in advance, both the client and the contractor can better predict the outcome and adjust the blasting work at an early stage, avoiding unnecessary fracturing and cutting. Thus, test blasting can serve as an excellent planning tool.
Fair Procurement
By using the results from the test blasting as an objective reference, the procurement process can become more transparent and fair. Contractors gain clearer conditions to evaluate work efforts and material requirements, promoting competition on equal terms and reducing the risk of unrealistic bids. By understanding the conditions based on the test blasting results, the risk of unforeseen additional work (ÄTA) during the project can thus be minimized.

Efficiency & Precision
Test blasting enables the optimization of blasting operations based on geological conditions and environmental restrictions. By having the conditions defined from the start, parameters such as charge amount, hole diameter, and drilling pattern can be optimized rather than determined through trial and error. This leads to more efficient resource utilization, saving both time and money.
Control
A test blasting provides both the client and the contractor with a clear understanding of how the blasting work is expected to be carried out and any potential limitations. As the work progresses, the forecast can be easily updated to further optimize and control the blasting operations.
